Meghan Rozema, from Alberta, has become the first person in the province to donate two organs while still alive. Her first donation came in the form of a partial liver transplant for a baby on the transplant list. Two years later, she donated a kidney to another stranger. Both donations were made through the Alberta Organ and Transplant Program. Rozema’s decision to donate was driven by a desire to help others in need. She said the experience was both emotional and rewarding. Her story highlights the impact of living organ donation and the importance of organ donation registries. The program continues to encourage more people to consider becoming donors.
