A roller coaster at Canada's Wonderland was the scene of a fatal incident involving a 23-year-old woman from Georgia. The incident occurred on a ride known as the "Steel Vortex" on July 12. Emergency responders were called to the park, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary reports suggest the woman was seated in a restraint system when the ride malfunctioned. Park staff and emergency personnel provided immediate care. The incident has prompted an internal review by Six Flags, the park's operator. No modifications to the roller coasters have been announced at this time.
This is the second reported fatality at Canada's Wonderland in less than a year. In June 2023, a 34-year-old man from Florida died after being ejected from a ride. Both incidents have raised questions about safety protocols at the park. Regulatory authorities have not yet issued formal statements or launched independent investigations. The park has issued a statement expressing deep sorrow and commitment to safety.
