A man died after falling from a roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, U.S. Prompting the closure of two rides at Canada's Wonderland. The incident occurred on Monday, according to officials. Witnesses reported the man flew out of the Goliath roller coaster and collided with other passengers before landing underneath the ride.
Six Flags has temporarily closed nine similar attractions in its parks across the U.S. And Canada as a precaution. The company stated the safety of guests and staff remains its top priority. A spokesperson for Six Flags confirmed the Leviathan and Behemoth coasters at Canada's Wonderland, located north of Toronto, were closed.
This follows an ongoing investigation into the incident. The fatality has raised concerns about safety protocols on roller coasters. Canada's Wonderland is one of the largest theme parks in Ontario. The closure is expected to last until further assessments are completed.
This is not the first time Six Flags has faced safety concerns. In 2023, a similar incident at another park led to temporary closures and a review of safety measures. The current situation highlights the need for continued oversight in amusement park operations.
