A Canadian air ambulance crashed off the coast of Massachusetts on Saturday, killing all six people aboard. The aircraft, based in Ontario, was en route from Bermuda to Boston when it disappeared in the waters near Nantucket.
The U.S. Coast Guard has confirmed the identities of the six victims, including four Canadians. Among the deceased are Bermudian nationals Marilyn Lavonne Bean and her son Sergio Wayne Lottimore. The crash occurred as the plane was navigating the Atlantic Ocean.
This incident marks the second fatal air ambulance crash in the region this year. The first occurred in July when a similar aircraft crashed near Nova Scotia, killing five people. Both crashes involved planes operating under the Canadian Air Ambulance Service.
The Canadian Air Ambulance Service, which provides emergency medical transport, has not yet released a statement on the incident. The U.S. Coast Guard is continuing its search for debris and is working with Canadian authorities to investigate the cause of the crash. The victims’ families have been notified, and an official inquiry is expected to follow.
