A 28-year-old Nigerian man, Adebayo Maoli, has been arrested in Canada following allegations of exposing himself to three victims in separate incidents on Toronto’s public transit system. According to the Toronto Police Service, Maoli is charged with one count of sexual assault and two counts of indecent act. The first incident occurred on September 1, 2026, and subsequent incidents followed in the weeks that followed.
The police confirmed that Maoli was apprehended after reports from passengers who witnessed the alleged misconduct. The incidents took place on different occasions, indicating a pattern of behavior. The charges against Maoli are serious, with the sexual assault charge carrying potential prison time if convicted.
This case has raised concerns about public safety on Toronto’s transit system. Authorities have emphasized the importance of reporting such incidents to ensure the well-being of passengers. The legal proceedings against Maoli are ongoing, and further details are expected as the case progresses through the judicial system.
This is not the first time a Nigerian national has faced legal issues in Canada. In a separate case, Olukunle Adetunji, a Nigerian migrants’ rights leader, is set to be deported from Canada despite efforts to regularize his status. While these two cases involve different individuals and legal contexts, they highlight the complex relationship between immigration policies and criminal justice in Canada.
